Juxtaposition
Once again the challenge is to place everyday reclaimed objects in a location where they shift the perspective of the viewer in the context of the environment. The simple act of cutting a tree can be turned into an eco-art installation. Where did that tree come from and who cut it? When seeing Martin's work we can challenge our preconceived ideas to go beyond. This 300 year old barn in Sweden provides a perfect background to the newly cut tree that is freshly painted with a bright white paint. As a collective we manipulate and change our environment to suit our needs. This is a never-ending cycle that we are part of but we might want to look at the ways we are changing the landscape and decide how we want to contribute in a positive way.
